Forest’s David Vaughan is suspended for a straight red card against Birmingham in midweek and Gary Gardner is the likely deputy in midfield.
Other than that, boss Dougie Freedman could name an unchanged team.
Mark Davies is back in training and could play for Bolton after his move to Sheffield Wednesday fell through.
Zach Clough’s £2m transfer to Bristol City has also collapsed but he has a hip injury and will not play. Emile Heskey (calf) is back in the squad.
