Liverpool v Chelsea– 17.30 GMT kickoff
It’s yet another Liverpool and Chelsea clash. We say “yet another” as they have played each other more than any other teams in the past decade. This is another important one though as Liverpool try to push their way further towards the top and Chelsea try to put some pressure on the league-leaders, Man City.
One thing’s for sure- neither team will want to give anything away today. The last twice the teams met at Anfield resulted in a one-all draw, but this could be a very different affair.
We expect both teams to go all out on an attack and – given their strike force and they way they’ve been knocking in goals- there’s little point in holding back. Both will be wanting the 3 points all for themselves.
One of the biggest issues for Liverpool this season has been their defence, but they’ve tightened things up at the back lately and this in turn appears to have given them more confidence when moving forward. Despite a slowish start to the season, they seem to be turning it round now. 23 goals in the last 6 games says it all.
Chelsea haven’t been lacking in goals either, with their last 2 away fixtures resulting in an 8 goal tally without reply.
Liverpool’s biggest weakness this season seems to have been their big rivals. They’ve been well beaten by the likes of Man City and Spurs, though they took care of Arsenal comfortably. Key striker Mohamed Salah will certainly be keen to show Chelsea fans what they’re missing.
Liverpool v Chelsea- Summary
It should be both a highly entertaining and tense match to watch. Tensions are likely to run high on the pitch and whilst goals are expected, the key could well be the team that holds its nerve, will prevail.
F88 prediction: Liverpool to win
