Juventus are preparing to offer experienced defender Andrea Barzagli a contract extension.

The 34-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the current season, with the Bianconeri hierarchy keen to keep hold of the Italy international.

According to Tuttosport, the Old Lady will offer the former Palermo centre-back new terms to fend off interest from Sinisa Mihajovic’s AC Milan and a number of Major League Soccer clubs.

The combative defender is comfortable playing as part of either a two or a three man central defence and helped Juventus to a domestic double and the UEFA Champions League final last season.

Barzagli has represented the Azzurri 54 times since making his debut against Finland in November 2004 under Marcello Lippi.
