The sources said that the deal is guaranteed for one season with the Rapids holding an option for the 2020 campaign. Feilhaber will make just under the maximum budget charge of $ 530,000 in 2019.
Feilhaber spent last season with LAFC. He played in all 34 of the expansion club’s regular season matches, starting 32 times and recording three goals and six assists. Prior to joining LAFC, Feilhaber, who will turn 34 on Jan. 19, played five seasons with Sporting Kansas City. The 2013 MLS Cup winner has 37 goals and 56 assists in eight MLS seasons between LAFC, SKC and the New England Revolution.
The move is the latest in an active offseason for Colorado, who are rebuilding after finishing with the third-fewest points in the league last season. In addition to signing Feilhaber, the Rapids have also acquired strikers Kei Kamara and Diego Rubio, right back Keegan Rosenberry and midfielder Nicolas Mezquida this offseason.
The Rapids hold the 15th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft on Friday.
