With a string of positive results in the UEFA Champions League this week for the Bundesliga participants, the focus now turns back to the domestic scene with Matchday 14 just around the corner.

Remember to tune in!
Bundesliga Matchday 14 starts tonight – here is where you can follow the action in your territory:
Boateng vs Berlin
Jerome Boateng is looking forward to meeting the club from his home city this weekend. The Bayern and Germany defender answered questions at a press conference in Munich today.
Kevin Volland and Nadiem Amiri are both on their way to work:
Bayer 04 Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt has spoken to the media ahead of his side’s clash with Schalke on Sunday, revealing that Lars Bender is to undergo surgery and not return until “early next year.”
…injuries: Ömer Toprak, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Stefan Kießling are all available again against Schalke. Roberto Hilbert is back training with the team and things are moving on positively, but Sunday comes too soon for him. Lars [Bender] will be back at some point early next year
…current form: We’ve been playing a game every three days and this is clearly taking something away from the composure our young players need to show in front of goal. We’ve scored plenty of goals in the Champions League, but wasted too many chances in the Bundesliga.
Skripnik on the Nordderby
A veteran of many a derby, Viktor Skripnik has summed up what Saturday’s clash with Hamburg means…
Hecking press conference
VfL Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking has just held his press conference ahead of Sunday’s trip to Augsburg.
If this is what Hertha have to face tomorrow, maybe it is not even worth travelling to the Allianz Arena…
Dardai: ‘Our chance is now’
High-flying Hertha Berlin have the unenviable task of tackling FC Bayern München this weekend, but judging by the words of their coach Pal Dardai (r.), it is a challenge they are willing to rise to.
Bremen host Hamburg in the Nordderby this weekend, and you can hear what Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia (l.) had to say at the pre-match press conference.
Europa League review
There were mixed fortunes for the Bundesliga sides in Europa League action on Thursday, with a win – and qualification – for Schalke, but defeats for Dortmund and Augsburg. Click on the club names to read the reports of their respective matches.
Don’t forget, the weekend starts tonight with SV Darmstadt 98 vs 1. FC Köln, the action getting underway at (20:30CET/19:30GMT) at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor where tennis superstar Andrea Petkovic will be settling a rather unique bet…
Given the conditions in Gelsenkirchen this morning, it may take the FC Schalke 04 players quite a while to get warmed up in training…
