Celtic v FC Astana- 7.45pm kickoff
It’s been 6 wins and a draw so far for Celtic this season and confidence will be high as they take on FC Astana tonight. This will be a tougher test than their 6-0 aggregate win over Linfield and their away goal at Rosenborg.
They will know the value of away goals and it will be important for the home side not to concede in this first leg. They will know the capabilities of Astana- having knocked them out at this stage last season- and will be all out to ensure a shut out this evening.
Astana are more than capable, as they showed in their defeat of Legia Warsaw in the third round with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.
Last year in this round, Celtic prevailed 2-1 and a narrow victory here and a shut out away from home is all that’s required for Celtic to progress to the next round.
With home advantage and in their current form, it’s hard to see past Celtic, who we expect to just edge it tonight.
